Have you ever wanted to feel like you are getting a bargain or a “good deal”?
The psychology behind using coupons to entice sales is undeniable. In a shoppingcart you can make a coupon code that links to a specific product, a variety of products or even ALL of your products so that you can entice more people to buy.
Here’s how. There are two main options:
- Set the coupon to a specific “Dollars Off” ($)
- Create the coupon for a “Percentage Off” (%) the whole purchase
Try using these other coupon features:
- Set a coupon to expire on a certain date — this gives a sense of urgency to purchase.
- Limit the number available — if you tell your contacts only “X number of coupons are available” then it may entice earlier purchases.
- Set a minimum purchase dollar amount to drive multiple product purchases with a coupon.
- Create a 100% off “comp” coupon to offer to colleagues and clients you are courting. This still gets them into your shopping cart and the registration process, but they don’t have to pay a thing!
- Create a 100% off coupon for testing purposes. I do this when creating new products and services for clients so I know that the process is working correctly — from the landing/thank you page, to the receipt of the correct email/autoresponder.
The next time you select a price for a new product or service, remember to build a coupon discount into the product cost up-front. That way you still meet your profit objectives.
Where to find in the cart: The coupon feature can be found under Products > Coupons
This tip applies to 1Shoppingcart and all of the 15+ branded versions such as Kickstartcart or PracticePaySolutions (they’re all the same platform).
